Yoshiro mori resigns as president of Tokyo Olympic committee after sexist remarks

President of the Tokyo Olympic organizing committee Yoshiro Mori has resigned after sexist remarks implying that women talk too much.

Yoshiro Mori resigned on Friday February 12 2021.

Speaking in an executive board and council meeting, Mori said, “As of today I will resign from the president’s position,”. He went further to say “My inappropriate comments have caused a lot of chaos,”.

Mori’s resignation follows over one week of pressure and non-stop criticism about his remarks because he had initially apologized but refused to resign.
