Police to investigate murder of mentally challenged woman in Lagos

The Lagos state police command says it is investigating the killing of a mentally challenged woman who was killed on allegations of being in possession three AK 47 rifles and a stolen baby.

The incident took place on May 24 at Abule Ado, under the bridge in Festac.

Spokesman of the Lagos State police Command CP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement, said the victim had been living in the area for several years before she met her demise in the hands of her assailants.

Adejobi said it was a clear case of murder as no AK 47 rifles nor baby were found in the victim’s possession.

The matter according to the statement, has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department Panti Yaba on the orders of the Commissioner of police Hakeem Odumosu for proper investigation.

The Commissioner according to the statement also warned against jungle justice adding that the command will not tolerate such acts, as the long arm of the law will catch up with anyone or group of persons who engages in such acts in the state.
