Washington Post gets first female editor

Sally Buzbee has been named the first female executive editor of Washington post.

She is the first woman to lead the newsroom in the paper’s 143- year history.

Washington Post Publisher and Chief Executive Officer Fred Ryan made the announcement in a memo to staff on Tuesday May 25.

Buzbee who has been executive editor and senior vice president of the Associated Press since early 2017 succeeds Martin “Marty” Baron, who retired from the paper at the end of February.
