Broadcast Radio Masterclass announces date for commencement of its Media Mentors Series

The Broadcast Radio Masterclass BRMC, has announced a date for the commencement of season two of its Media Mentors Series Conference.
Fola Folayan, BRMC’s Operations Director, in a statement said, this year’s edition will be done in partnership with the School of Communication, Lagos State University LASU.
Scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 31st, the conference will see radio presenters and media professionals across the country meeting to discuss the evolution of radio content in the digital age and the rise of new mediums.
“The traditional radio medium has gone through major changes in recent years with the current global shift toward multimedia content”. Folayan noted in the statement.
She further said, “With Radio making significant use of technologies like mobile communications and the Internet, broadcast media professionals in Nigeria have to either innovate and adapt or die”.
The statement by Folayan said 20 students from the Lagos State University will be given scholarships to attend the BRMC training program, while presentations and panel discussions at the conference, will discuss content research, creation, marketing and audience engagement, digital investigations, storytelling and podcasting.
Dean, School of Communication, Lagos State University, Professor S.O Alawode will deliver the keynote address and leading voices in the radio industry will be taking the stage for panel discussions and fireside chats at the conference at the conference billed to hold at Nest Technology Innovation Hub, Hughes Avenue, Alagomeji Yaba Lagos.
The Broadcast Radio Master Class exposes students to the opportunities available on digital platforms and teaches how broadcasters can branch out to become entrepreneurs, looking to develop the next innovative sites, products or services.
