Chinese man stabs lover to death in Kano

A 23-year-old woman, Ummu Kulthum has allegedly been stabbed to death by her lover a Chinese man identified as Geng Quangrong in Kano state.

Police Spokesman in Kano SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the incident said the crime was committed on Friday.

SP Kiyawa said suspect Geng allegedly committed the crime after scaling the fence of the deceased residence to gain access where he stabbed her severally until she died.

Geng while explaining what led to his action alleged that he was deceived by Ummu who was his girlfriend and promised to marry him but betrayed him even after he had spent so much money on her, adding that this angered him to the point that he decided to attack and kill the deceased.

The accused has since been transferred to the state headquarters at Bompai for further investigation and prosecution, while the deceased has been buried according to muslim rites.
