Spain beats England 1-0 to 2023 women’s world cup

Spanish side La Roja beat England’s the Lionesses 1-0 on Sunday to clinch their first ever women’s world cup title.
The win makes Spain the fifth winner in the ninth edition of the tournament.
They are also the first team to hold the under 17 and Senior world titles simultaneously.
Aitana Bonmati was awarded the Golden Ball as the best player of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Spanish Football Association (FA) president, Luis Rubiales, has sparked controversy over a kiss he exchanged with Spanish midfielder Jenni Hermoso while celebrating the win with critics describing it as inappropriate.
However, Rubiales defended his action arguing that it was simply two people displaying genuine affection.
