kidnapped corp members: HURIWA calls on president Tinubu to intervene to ensure release

Civil Rights Advocacy group Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in order to end the continued confinement of 8 corp members in the hands of bandits.

The corp members were kidnapped on their way to camp in Zamfara state four months ago.

HURIWA in statement by its national coordinator Emmanuel Onwubiko, described as unfortunate the kidnap of the corp members who were on their way to answer the call of their fatherland to offer selfless national service.

While expressing disappointment about the nonchalant disposition of the Zamfara State governor Dauda Lawal and his government towards putting measures into motion that could have led to the release of the 8 corpers, the statement lamented the hardship the parents of the corp members are going through as they are left with the burden of trying to raise the ransom money demanded by the bandits.

The Rights group commended the NYSC for suspending the posting of corpers to Zamfara State as a result of the abduction.
