NAWOJ elects new leaders to pilot its affairs

Members of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists have elected new leaders to pilot the affairs of the Association.

In the election which was conducted on November 25, Aisha Ibrahim Bura polled 498 voted to defeat incumbent president Ladi Bala.

Comrade Aisha Ibrahim emerged victorious after two previous attempts.

Speaking in an acceptance speech, Comrade Aisha said she should be addressed as ‘National Chairperson’ while state chairpersons will be known as ‘State Coordinators’.

She pledged the loyalty of the association to the umbrella Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) under the leadership of President Chris Isiguzo.
