Zenith bank PLC gets first female CEO
Adaora Umeoji has been appointed by Zenith bank PLC as its Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer.
Umeoji’s appointment was made known on Tuesday by Secretary of the bank Michael Osilama in a corporate filing on the Nigerian Exchange Group (NGX).
Umeoji’s appointment takes effect on June 1 after the expiration of the tenure of Ebenezer Onyeawgu on May 31 2024.
The new CEO brings nearly thirty years of banking experience to her new role.
With almost 30 years of experience, Umeoji who has been serving as the deputy managing director of Zenith Bank since 28 October 2016 has been with Zenith Bank for 26 years.
She joins the growing list of women heading banks in the Nigerian financial sector.
