Iconic Nigerian Singer Onyeka Onwenu passes on

Iconic Nigerian Singer Onyeka Onwenu has passed on.

Ms Onwenu slumped after a performance at the birthday party of Stella Okoli, owner of Emzor Pharmaceuticals on Tuesday.

She was rushed to a hospital where she eventually passed on.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu, is among those who have paid tribute to the late singer.

Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, in a condolence statement said “President Tinubu mourns the passing of the Queen of Songs, whose edifying and mellifluous rendition, ‘One Love’, in the 1990s evoked a fervour of fellowship and harmony.”

President Tinubu further condoled with the entertainment industry, the Imo State government, and the numerous fans of the departed star over this immeasurable loss and prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased artiste.
