Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie named Harpers Bazaar woman of the year
Harper’s Bazaar España has named Nigerian author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie as its woman of the year.
The honour is in recognition of her remarkable contributions to storytelling and cultural advocacy.
Chimamanda was recognized alongside Jerry Hall, Diane Kruger, Elizabeth Hurley, and Teresa Perales, who were all recognised for excelling in their respective fields.
According to Editor-in-chief Inmaculada Jiménez the women who made the list are “Women who never allowed their fears to roll over on the way to dreams and who kept very much in mind that the barriers they had to face were always external, never in their souls and in their hearts. Women who, in their firm commitment to achieve what they were looking to be, have managed to be what every good society needs.”
This honour comes ahead of Chimamanda’s new novel, “Dream Count,” set to debut in March 2025.
