Gospel singer arrested with severed head of youth corps member in Abuja

The Nasarrawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a gospel singer Timilehin Ajayi, for the alleged death of his alleged girlfriend Salome Enejo.

24-year-old Ms Enejo was until her death a member of the National Youth Service Corps serving in Abuja.

Mr Ajayi was arrested on Sunday in Orozo a suburb of Abuja with the severed head of Enejo in a polythene bag.

The Nasarawa State Police Command Spokesman Ramhan Nansel in an interview with Punch Newspaper said the suspect was rescued from being mobbed by the crowd who caught him with the severed head.  

“During the investigation at his place of residence, we found two sacks filled with the victim’s dismembered body. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Salome Enejo; her parents have been contacted and have identified her,’ he added.

Nansel said investigations have already commenced while the suspect is currently receiving medical attention.
